Bilbao, 17th December 2017. The 10th edition of Bilbao Mendi Film Festival is coming to an end with this highly anticipated moment. After the screening of 51 films of the Official Selection over the past 9 days, the Jury made up of Jesús Mari Lazkano, Nancy Rosenthal, Jack Tackle, Paul Urkijo and Deb Smythe have decided to award the Grand Prize of the Bilbao Mendi Film Festival 2017 to Dirtbag: The Legend of Fred Beckey.
Peter Habeler will receive the the Award of the The Walk On Project (WOP) 2017 a la defensa de los valores del alpinismo, el tributo de la 10ª edición del Bilbao Mendi Film Festival, el reconocimiento a su admirable trayectoria. Este evento se celebrará en una sesión especial del Mendi Film Festival el sábado 16 de diciembre, a las 19.30h, en la Sala BBK, que se titulará La Noche de Peter Habeler.
Peter Habeler will receive the Award of The Walk On Project Foundation (WOP) to the defense of the values of mountaineering at Bilbao Mendi Film Festival 2017.
Edificio Ensanche will be the centre of the Bilbao Mendi Film Festival, as it will become in our Mendi Base Camp.
Among many activities, in the mornings a new format activity, Meet & Greet with the protagonists will take place so as to know the guests: directors, alpinits, producers...

Fandango by basque amateur director Alex Areizaga was the short film winner of the 4th edition of the contest for amateur filmmakers Mendi Short.
On Saturday, December 16, this film will be screened in the morning session of the Sala BBK, along with the programming of the Official Section (tickets).

The film Mountain will open the Official Section of the 10th edition at the Opening Ceremony of the Euskalduna Palace on December 8.
As is habitual throughout the months of November and December Metro Bilbao, and during the Festival the Sala BBK, will display the twenty photographs which CVCEPHOTO, the International Mountain photography contest, has chosen as winners, in its stations.
The artist Jesus Mari Lazkano and the film director Paul Urkijo, festival directors Deb Smythe and Nancy Rosenthal, and the alpinist Jack Tackle, will form the jury of the Official Section of the 10th edition of the Bilbao Mendi Film Festival.
