The registration period for submitting films for the Official Selection of the BBK Mendi Film Bilbao Bizkaia is opened. Those interested will have until the 5th of September.
The 19th edition of the BBK Mendi Film Bilbao Bizkaia will be held from 4 to 13 December 2026. It is a unique setting for the premiere of newly produced and edited films, one of the most prestigious international festivals and a member of the International Alliance for Mountain Film.
Mendi Film offers a wide space for documentary films that deal with mountain, adventure, extreme sports or nature. The rules and entry requirements can be found at mendifilmfestival.com, as well as at the multi-submission form mountainfilmalliance.org.
The Official Section of the Mendi Film will distribute 24,800 euros and trophies among the selected films. See the 2008-2025 list of awarded films.
Last year, 226 films were registered, applying directly to participate in Bilbao. This was a record number.
