Metro Bilbao and Sala BBK once again host the 20 best photographs of the CVCEPHOTO international mountain activity photography contest that this year reaches its 8th edition. In this competition organized by the Club Vasco de Camping Elkartea, the jury, in addition to the exceptional creativity and aesthetic quality of the works, values the activity that takes place in them. Among the photographs that can be admired is "Ski is life" by Slovenian photographer Sandi Bertoncelj, selected to be the image of the 15th edition of BBK Mendi Film Bilbao Bizkaia, and the first prize of the CVCEPHOTO 2022 "Young Gun" by the Basque Yhabril Moro.

The Curavacas (2,524 ms.) is located on the southern slope of the Cantabrian Mountains, in the Fuentes Carrionas massif. It`s the summit par excellence of the Montaña Palentina Natural Park. In 2012, José María Álvarez began a photographic chronicle of this mountain, fixing his gaze on the colossal conglomerate walls and lichens of its south face. With this project of seasonal variation (2012-18), the author remains faithful to the heritage of traditional photography and his tenacity due to the absence of subsequent manipulation.

Beyond continental Patagonia and the Strait of Magellan, in the archipelago of Tierra del Fuego, the southern tip of South America, there are still unexplored mountains. Mountains and glaciers. The upper elevations of the Darwin Range icefield have been the target of the INTO THE ICE expedition, which has blended geographic exploration, glacier research, climbing and adventure, in one of the most remote and wild mountain ranges on the planet. The exhibition is an example of all this.
