Billy Choi

Billy Choi (South Korea) is majored in Film Studies at the graduate school of Dongguk University. She worked at Jeonju International Film Festival, Seoul International Woman’s Film Festival, KOFIC (Korean Film Council) and Korean Barrier Free Film Committee.
She became associated with UMFF (Ulju Mountain Film Festival) when she began to work at the TFT, the preparation party of UMFF in 2014, and now works as a programmer of UMFF.
Billy Choi has travelled to various Mountain Films Festivals and she also came to the last edition of Bilbao Mendi Film Festival.
This year she returns as a jury.

Hélios Gracia

Helios Gracia (France) has been school teacher for 40 years, but he has also made numerous works for cinema, shooting three films with his students.
In the 90s he created a traveling cinema group in the mountain villages of his region. The last 12 years he has been member of the selection of films committee of the festival Coupe Icare, where now he is the Director.
He created the award of children jury, granted by his school children.

Jon Garaño

Jon Garaño (Donostia-San Sebastián). He studied journalism at the EHU-UPV and Theater in Sarobe and San Diego (USA). In 2001 he co-founded the Moriarti producer, where he works as director, producer and screenwriter. His films have been awarded in over 100 contests and have been broadcasted in more than fifteen countries. His most important films are 80 egunean, and Loreak, wich was nominated for Goya for best film and was nominated to the Oscars in 2015. His last work is Aundiya, which is not already released. He has also produced the documentary film Lucio and The Arrieta method, and it has several prices.

 

Pawel Wysoczanski

Pawel Wysoczanski was born in 1980 in Głogów (Poland). He was graduated in the University of Silesia in Katowice, Krzysztof Kieslowski Faculty of Radio and Television. He is the author of some documentary and feature films: Point of view, Flying education, On the road, We will be happy one day, awarded at several film festivals. One of his lastest work is the documentary Jurek about the famous mountaineer Jerzy Kukuczka. It has been distributed in cinemas all over the world, and also in Bilbao Mendi Film Festival, where it won the Best Alpinism Film Award last year. He is Expert at the Polish Film Institute.

Silvo Karo

Silvo Karo (Slovenia). During his illustrious sporting career he has completed numerous expeditions in Patagonia making numerous first ascents. Silvo’s essay on the granite Patagonian giants even found its place in the book Voices from the Summit, which was published by National Geographic. In 1987 he ascended the south face of Cerro Torre, where he shot a film which was awarded in Trento’s Silver Gentian for the best mountaineering film. Working as a cameraman he helped creating a TV programme on Slovenian national television. As the founding father and director of the Festival Gorniškega Filma, he has upgraded his rich mountaineering path with culture. He’s been a jury of various international mountain film festivals and he is an honorary member of the British Alpine Club.
