French kayaker Nouria Newman is preparing to become the first woman to descend a 30-metre waterfall. However, descending the world's most difficult rapids isn’t the biggest challenge of her life. The expectations placed on her as an athlete and as a woman weigh heavily on her decisions and ambitions; considering this, she strives to make her own way. It is this central aspect of her life, this refusal to bow to the expectations of others, where Nouria is able to use kayaking as a way to transform into her true self and become a once-in-a-generation kayaker.
