COURSE ABOUT TRAINING METHODS AND PATHOLOGIES IN CLIMBING

Injuries in elbows, hands and shoulders are the most common and extended ones in the world of climbing, this is their daily bread. In fact, according to several studies, around 80% of the climbers have suffered from an injury related to climbing. Based on this situation, Bilbao Mendi Film Festival organizes, on its 8^th edition, a workshop whose objective is the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of this kind of pathologies.

During the workshop, there will be theoretical and practical lessons about prevention and treatment of the climber’s pathologies (diagnosis of the injuries, irruption of the young climbers in their motor functions, etc.) and training methods (panel, campus board, TRX, etc.). In any case, both lessons will be given by renowned professionals: orthopaedic surgeons Víctor Galán and Adrián Cuéllar, physiotherapist Andoni Ormazabal and biologist Ioritz Gonzalez, Xeber Iruretagoiena that graduated in Science of Physical Activity and Sport, former world champion climber Patxi Usobiaga, current world champion climber Adam Ondra, current champion of Europe in young category Mikel Linazisoro and Josean Mulas, current manager of the Basque climbing national team.
