The 150th anniversary of the first ascent of ‘Cima Grande,’ one of the three ‘Cime di Lavaredo’ in the Dolomites, was in 2019. Reinhold Messner explores the evolution of Alpine climbing from then until now, and expert climbers re-enact the milestones reached there by the most remarkable characters in history: from the pioneering Paul Grohmann, to Hans Dülfer, Emilio Comici and the Dimai brothers, or the team made up of Brandler, Hasse, Lehne and Löw, right up to Alexander Huber.
